Galería Pelaires is pleased to announce Gori Mora's first edition launch, taking place October 28th.
'Rubbery' and 'Fragments' belong to a suite of two handcrafted screen prints, each numbered from 1 to 28. These extraordinary prints have 8 layers of colour and have been made between July and September in Mallorca at Tony Velonis graphic studio @tonyvelonis, with the exceptional support and experience of Cecilia Segura.
These two pieces together represent Gori Mora's personal narrative, through an exploration of abstract shapes: "I created them during my five-month journey away from human contact due to health issues, including a skin allergy that left lasting marks on my body".
The subjects appear as curious organisms, their forms seemingly in a constant state of fluid transformation. The fragments merge, separate and grow, giving the impression of an eternal dance of matter. In the midst of this movement, a profound stillness emerges, as the artist invites viewers to contemplate a moment between solitude and intimacy.
